I love Lompoc Brewery. But even those we love disappoint us once in a while. Heaven’s Helles tastes as close to college Coors Light days as I ever want to get. Not. A. Fan.

Perhaps its because I have just had a few beers, but I was really drawn to my old saying to really express just how much I like Lompoc Strong (Special) Draft. I originally had it at Papa Haydn (who knew a place that had the most awesome desserts in Portland, also rocked the local beers!). So when I saw it at the beer pusher, I grabbed it without delay.

It’s dark, its strong, and compliments the cold northwest days with a smooth maltiness. That, and it almost helped wash away the sadness of being a fan of the Chargers. Almost.
